sorry for the newbie questions but im wondering how 6 AA eneloops would fare with these 2 bulbs.

what kind of output and runtime can i expect from these 2 bulbs?

thanks

The WA1111 will run great and output 800 or so bulb lumens and run for 30 to 40 minutes depending on battery capacity. The 1274 really needs 7 cells to perform well but you will be in no danger of flashing the bulb with only 6.

Check this thread for voltages and outputs: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=179748

and try searching for "mag11" for more info.

WA1111 will draw about 3.6 amps
Eneloops have 2000mah capacity

2AH/3.6A = 0.55 Hours....or about 33 minutes

I know for certatin WA1111 will work with 6 cells. WA1274 is kinda like the WA1164, your going to have to run it with 7 cells.
this thread here will give you alot of ideas how to drive a WA1274 aka Mag74

cheers

im just learning about all this flashlight stuff. ive got the eneloops, a mdocod holder and pelican rop bulbs but was thinking maybee i can get more output from some of these other bulbs.

i was also wondering if there is such a thing as a bi-pin led that you guys run from a G4 socket? if i cant get more light than the rop i would like to get more run time maybee.

Just use the ROP low...pulls approx 2Amps which should give you twice the runtime (close to an hour) of the ROP high bulb, and it does put out a fair ammount of light. The ROP low in a 2C Lithium ion powered light is one of my favorites by far.
