Ok...I have a tiny, bright light, I have 4 lights in the 2xCR123 format ( 2 LED, 2 Incan ) I have a 3D MagLED, a 4D Mag, a 1xAA, a slew of minimags, 2 or 3 Dive lights and a 1 million candlepower rechargeable spotlight. I can't conceive of a single situation that I wouldn't have just the right light for........

so why do I still read flashlight reviews, pay attention to new models, and check the flashlight section of every store I go into ?!?!?! For you guys that have been here a while...do you ever get to the point where you think you have enough lights ??

I ask myself the same question. I think it is because many people, including myself look at a flashlight as a tool. In that case, then yes, we have more than enough. However, if we look at flashlights as novelty, cool gadget item, then no.

For my personal need, the flashlight that I use as tool tends to be lower in lumens, higher in runtime, using standard NiMh AA or AAA batteries. The super bright portable sun-tan generating flashlights that last for about an hour are cool to have and play around with. In real world situation, I haven't used them much. It's similar to me collecting knives ... my $500 knives are made of the top of the line premium steel and handle material, finely honed by talented custom knifemaker, heat-treated to handle abuse. Sounds good in theory, but I really don't want to use or damage my $500 knives, so they basically they sit pretty in my drawer. :twothumbs

This sounds like me! I have a couple of CRKT knifes and a Kershaw but never used them in real situations. All I end up using is a swiss army tool.

You won't have the best light for very long.
And not having the very best will bug you more and more until you give in and fix that...

This question comes up often enough. 95% of the replies say "no, you'll never have enough". Well... it is a hobby like any other... so it's an open ended pursuit with no end in sight :D Some have discipline and only buy a light or two per year - or less. They know exactly what they are looking for in a light and stick to their goals... buying only what is needed to cover all aspects of illumination. For me it's mostly just a blast to keep up with the latest flashlight creations and LED's available and not so much buying whatever is the hyped flavor of the month etc., And also because it's all about beating back the darkness with ever more light - something that never gets old or boring ;)

I'm financially obligated to tell myself that I have more than enough lights, but in the back of my head I know that's a horrible lie.

I think YES!

I mean... for example: RIGHT NOW I have all the lights that I want, and that I need. A Surefire L1, a Fenix P1, a new Lumapower IncenDio, a Fenix L2D... the problem starts when there are new lights and new technology being released!
So, with this new lights/LEDs/technology, you catch yourself thinking that you have to upgrade your lights, cause they are obsolete...

So, the problem is not me! But it´s fault of the Light/LED manufacturers! STOP PRODUCING NEW LIGHTS!!

I don´t collect lights, so I always sell or give as a gift my old/obsolete lights.

Got it ?

Simple: NO!

I have enough lights ( all LED) from 2 - 700 Lumen output.

Do i need more?

i don't need more lights, but i want a new Zebralight H30 Q5 another Glo-Toob and i have two Fenix E01 on the way.

There will be never enough!

Damn it, i know i have it bad with the flashoholic in me:nana:

MfG Mr.Urahara

when you have enough combined lumen outputs to replace the sun when it dies..

yeap

any chance you have a C3 HA body you'd like to get rid of? or does the M3 body fit a C head?

No C3 body, sorry :) . The M3 body does not fit the Classic series heads. The M3 I have is bored for AW 18500 cells and can fire up and burst the MN16.

oh well....ill take a look if you put them up on BST...maybe i can convince myself i need a whole M3..lol

but wait, th M2 body and the C2 body are the same body with differnt markings correct? so i guess it just doesnt apply with the larger M models?

Perhaps yes . . . .

If you steer yer'self towards some OTHER hobby.

There, you will spend time and money, on (you-name-it), until . . . .

something flashlight-related catches your eye.

A newer, brighter Emitter, perhaps

Infinitely-adjustable brightness levels

User-programable settings, via yer' PC's USB port

Maybe something in Titanium

And then, the dormant beast inside will re-awaken.

And, once again, you'll be prowling CPF, looking for another "fix".

That's how it works. You'll see.
