Wire strippers for 20-32 AWG wires

If you don't need 32 awg I use these & I would definitely recommend them to anyone. They're very sharp, I hate strippers that are dull, they will give you nothing but trouble with teflon jacketed wire. I also have their cutters.

Thanks for the responses,

I am working with teflon coated wire and the tools I currently have are usable but difficult. Often just pulling the strands out of the wire with the insulation.

Ill take look into these, I do like greenlee products thus far. But I may try more than one brand. I prefer to pay more and have a tool that works the way I want it to than struggle with cheaper tools.

Thanks

I use these and they work great. You can change out the teeth when they get dull or move up to a larger wire size.

I have used them on 30ga wire and they work very well. I have not used them on teflon wire.

They are more pricey than the typical non automatic hand wire stripper.

Pretty cool, never seen a wire stripper with replaceable blades. I find that automatic type strippers don't do well with teflon wire. Work pretty good for PVC jacketed wire. I'm curious, if I send you a few pieces of teflon wire can you try & let me know?

Anyone know where someone can get a quality wire stripper or a technique that can strip really small wires without just cutting them in half ?
I picked up a wire stripper at Princess Auto that strips 24 AWG teflon coated wires fairly well.

I can't find them on their web site, but the wire stripper is at the back end of the device. You squeeze it like a pair of pliers and the stripper moves towards the head.

It's not perfect, but it does the job. It does not cut the wire at all and perforates the teflon jacket enough that I can pull it off myself.

I second the Hakko, it's pretty cheap and is the best wire stripper I've used, even compared to substantially more expensive ones. That said, I've only used the 16-26 ga. version. I've never tried these, but they go up to 32ga. I wonder if they're any good?

Have a look also at
http://www.elexp.com/tol_3210.htm

I had to get a friend in the US to buy and send them to Australia.

I also bought some of the Stripmasters
linked above - but the supplied blades were useless for the gauge i use
- so don't know if they work well on teflon.

I'll have to try and get some blades one day.

The Xcelite works pretty well with the teflon blades.

Cheers
Dom

I saw your title and thought about an anorexic entertainment professional lol.

My dad used to heat up the plastic of wires using a lighter for a short time and then using his nails and fingers just pull the plastic off with easy (finger nails)
