Gene Malkoff sent me an email this morning notifying me of the availability of maglite 2-3-4D dropins. Now *this* is something whose price I can justify. I've been wanting to try one of these things for awhile now.

Question though. Can the stock MAG reflector handle the heat, or is it gonna melt? :)

For installation of the 2-3-4 D-cell dropins, Gene recommends just cutting the stock reflector down a bit, so the stock is fine. Those dropins are made out of an enormous block solid aluminum, thermal management is Gene's middle name, I think :grin2:

Gene sells pre-cut reflectors, too. He has a stippled one that makes for a nice flood beam, here's a comparison with smooth: Malkoff Standard & Stippled relectors

I snagged one of the M60's. There were 10 available. I'm glad I checked my email when I did because they were sold out within an hour.
