If i have 2 50watt ballasts and i splice my +ve and -ve wires together and then hook them into my bulb.
Would i then have my 100watt driven bulb? or no?

No I'm afraid it won't work. I tried "bridging" two ballasts, like you would two amps, where you use both positive leads to go to the bulb. It kind of worked but they were not happy and I had to shut them down straight away.
