Great service at 4sevens.com. I ordered my Nitecore D10-R2 on Thursday evening (3/12/09). It was on back ordered until Friday (3/13/09). Received an email at 10:18AM EDT on 3/13/09 that my order was shipped. It arrived with Monday's (3/16/09) mail.

What a great little flashlight. This is my first nice flashlight other than standard Maglites.

I can't believe how much light it puts out on a single AA battery. Very nice white light light as well. Makes the Mags look like low output mud.

Will it be brighter on 14500's?

Recommendation on 14500's for the D10? AW, Ultrafire, Trustfire, other?

Regards,

Chris

:welcome:

You have the same exact reaction as many of us who first purchased a "real" flashlight. I was amazed by how much light came out of a little AA tube.

Regarding to 14500, the ones that many people here use is AW. All of my rechargables are from AWs.

I have the old (well original batch actually) Q5 version. I don't notice a difference between the 14500 and eneloops. It just runs longer on a 14500 (and it makes it slightly less heavy).

:welcome:.... and congradulations on the the new light. you're gonna like the d10 the more you use it... i have only ran duracell rechargables that i picked up at wally world so i can't speak to the 14500 batteries but, i have been very happy with them to date. they are easey to find and are rated at 2000 mAh.

Go for the AW's. They are by far the safest Li-ion batteries out there. Just make sure to read the safety of Li-ion's before getting them. Especially dont overcharge them! The auto shutoff can fail, and can result in :poof::huh2::poke::oops::banghead:

I also received a D10 R2 today. Along with a couple of 14500 AW batteries. It works great!!!

I also got a EX10 with it. The switch wasn't as nice on the EX10 with the AW batteries as the D10 (which seems good with any battery). I put an UltraFire in the EX. The UltraFire is a little bit shorter (ever so slightly) than the AW RCR's and it works like a dream (almost as good as the D10). The shorter battery helps a lot. It also works good with regular CR123's. The longer AW doesn't allow for as much travel in the button. Who would have known 2/1000" could have made a difference.

I believe of the two I like the D10 more, although both are nice.
