Question for you surefire aficionados out there..
Awhile back, I purchased a used surefire x300u-A. Good condition, but no original packaging. I was trying to verify the output specs and read elsewhere that the older, 500 lumen models were given a serial number starting with "A" while the newer, 1000 lumen models serial starts with a "B". The thing is, I've also noticed several 1000 lumen models have "1000 lumens" stamped on the underside of the light body near the bezel.
Mine has a B serial number, but no 1000 lumen stamp. Is this just an anomaly? Or was the additional marking something they started after the new models had been out for a bit? Strange detail, I know.. but I figured if anyone would know, it would be here.
