Does anyone know if this particular product from DX is good?

I'm already in progress in a P7 mod with a 3D Mag. But my dad has a 6D Mag that I want to mod. Its very sentimental to my dad, but its really dim cause its the old incandescent ones. I read some of the reviews on DX and they say you can use the drop-in, into a Mag with some small modification. But my problem is that I want to put it into a 6D, and the maximum voltage it can accept is 8.4. Can I just put a resistor between the drop-in and the Mag, or do I have to some how fit a circuit board in their... or maybe replace the existing circuit board. Any suggestions? All help is appreciated. :twothumbs

This is for WF500, but with a bit grinding, it'll fit mag.
I haven't tried the new R2 version but I had the old P4 version & installed in WF500.

It was a thrower, the throw is inline with my 3x17670 compact 1D Mag 85.
It had 5 modes.

For throw, this will blow away P7.
If this module is driven to 1 Amp, It'll also out throw SST-50 at 5 Amp using Mag size reflector.

Cool, great advice. But what about the power issue? That max voltage is 8.4v. And I need it to run in a 6D. I can see that'd be great for direct drive in a 4D, but I need it in a 6D Mag. So would a simple resistor suffice? Thanks.

6D will sag under Load to be < 8v, you should use 6D, not 4D.
