When measuring the internal resistance of some cells, the display may briefly show a reading and then continue to have three dashed lines appear. I suspect some cells are out of range, but I'm not certain and don't know what that range might be. I'm assuming it may indicate a too high resistance.

Also, how is the record feature enabled? I've read the instructions about retrieving different test numbers, but not how to engage the record function. Thanks for your help.

Another questions is about fluctuating IR readings. With some cells the IR indication changes a little each time the display cycles between voltage & IR. Sometimes the IR goes down and then rises and the other way around. Other times the readout is stable.

IIRC, RECORD mode just shows the results of tests done in TEST mode. IOW, TESTs automatically enter results, and you just read results with RECORD mode.

I haven't used this feature since trying to figure it out and writing my instruction sheet, LOL...

The IR will vary due to the contact being made between the probes and the cell. It's very finicky and you'll have trouble getting a consistant result. Just use it as an indication rather than a definitive data point.

Yeah, i'd imagine it doesn't take much probe movement at those low values. The readings are always close and ballpark is fine, like you indicated, Peter.
