With the 2008 year coming to a close, its commonplace to look back and reflect on the last 12 months. I was thinking what my best deals/scores have been over the past 12 months.

Hmm.. Surefire M2, TOP Stryker, various Romisens and DX modules...

Up until a week ago my RC-N3-Q5 would have won... but since receiving the Leatherman LGX-200 in the costco gift pack Christmas morning, I gotta say I am VERY impressed. FWIW the LGX-200 is a rebadged Fenix L1T, V2.0. The whole set, light + multi-tool costs $49. You could turn around and sell the tool on ebay for $30 end end up with the light for $20:thumbsup:. That makes it a SCREAMING deal. Granted its not as bright as the RC-N3, but the Leatherman has a more useful floody beam, adds a long running 16 Lumen low mode and emits 95 Lumens(at the emitter) from a standard AA cell.

You can also use a primary CR123 cell, a P2D body/switch, and crank out a whopping ~150 L (at the emitter).

So, my best deal this year has been the Leatherman LGX-200 in the costco gift pack... followed very closely by the shiningbeam RC-N3-Q5.

I've not had any blinding deals, but the Solarforce L2 with R2 module for £20.99 shipped is the best I've had. Actually I was surprised to find them at all within the UK.

I was long looking for a new, original, Fenix L2P 1W, till I found them at Batteryjunction at less than 30 USD. I bought several and liked them a lot. I still consider them great EDC lights. Great lights... and a classic, I guess.

Kind regards,
Joris

Pristine NIB round bezel 9P w/ extra set of Duracell batteries, extra sealed lamp, and Laser Products holster for $60 BIN ebay.

NIB Black A2 for $200 on CPFM.

I'll second what Thujone said, the LiteFlux LF3XT, setting a new standard for 1 CR123 lights. Next would be the Fenix E01, an LED for everyman. Then there's a couple older lights (2007) that were new to me in 2008, the Fenix L0DQ4, a simple overacheiver, and the Photon Rex, a very unique "10" on the gadget scale.

Fenix EO1, Huntlight FT-01 ($45), 2D l.e.d. Maglite ($15), 2AA l.e.d. Maglite ($12), PT EOS headlight ($30 at REI), PT Quad headlight ($24 at REI), Leatherman/Fenix L1T 2.0 ($50 w/ Leatherman tool at Costco), POB H.I.D. spotlights ($14-$28 each from Sam's Club), PT Amp 5.0 ($28 from REI), 2 80 lumen 2AA Cree Energizer flashlights ($11 for 2 from Sam's Club), 105 lumen Coleman 3AAA Cree headlight ($25 from Walmart), 150 lumen Sam's Elements (2 for under $30 at Sam's Club), and 2 Dorcy TFFC K2 lights from Costco ($30).

I wanted to add a Primus Micron lantern for $40 at REIoutlet.com (with 20% off coupon). I know it's not a flashlight, but it puts out 70 watts worth of light and weighs only 4.4 ounces. Few, if any spotlights or l.e.d. flashlights can put out that much light at so little weight or such small size.

My best deal this year was getting a giant and super powerful Peak Performance brand 5 million candlepower pistol grip spotlight for only $30. You can see the picture I posted of it HERE.

I won a SF 6PL from a B&M at a grand opening, and I won a NIB SF A2 on ebay for $85.

For flashlights, I think the Fenix E01 and L0D Q4 were the best deals I've had this year.

The overall best deal I got this year was a new Victorinox Driver/Recruit SAK for $10...so I bought two and started another addication :ohgeez:

I got a Lowes coupon in the mail that was $10 off any $25 purchase. I then read here on the forum about the Husky 2D Tactical at Home Depot and that they would honor Lowes coupons so I went to Home Depot and got the Husky for 15 bucks!
