The story starts years ago when I 1st got my BB400 Q3 I like it alot!!... later I like the MM+ R2H more...when 3W arrive I goes to BB750-T but somehow it is too hot in long run(no more than 10mins) finally I usually take my MM- T almost run for 4hr with 2300Nimh

I have one of the legendary MM+R2H/NX05 in a CNC 123 with a two stage Kroll--awfully bright for it's size

My favorite Sandwich at the mo is a Ham & Grieve Baguette from Pret which includes their secret Mustard sauce! lol

mine is a MM+WO R2H, it sits in a stop light and draws over 400mAh from 1AA

I presently have 4 sandwiches,
Original BB500 I purchased in Nov 02
BB400 Q3L that is in my wife's Brinkmann
And the ultimate tastey sandwiches in my two minimags: BB500 R2H Fraen LP

The brightest one is used as a helmet light for my bicycle...works great!
The whiter but slightly dimmer one puts out a strong white beam even a flashaholic like cy would love (we ran into each other a month ago) The minimag is fed with 2200mAH Powerex NiMH batteries and is my EDC.
I like my BB500 R2H EDC so much, ordered 5 Streamlight Jr. Luxeons for the guys at work. It is for them, I don't want or need the Jr. (they have generic type minimags so NEED a Luxeon) I know they will compare the Jr. with the BB500 R2H...that is when they will figure out why theirs is called /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hahaha.gif Junior.

Toss-up between BB750 Lux3T and MM-Lite Lux3T.

The BadBoy responds better to the two-stage Kroll mod, but I find the MM-Lite to be useful on high without costing battery life.

The Madmax Lite Lux3T is the only sandwich I have. There are brighter sandwiches out there, but for my purposes I really don't need anything brighter or whiter than this baby. It's dazzling. That plus the long runtime make it hard to beat.

I currently have a MM+ R2H, an MM Lite R2H and a MM QYOH SE.

The MM QYOH SE puts out an interesting flood when paired with a modified MiniMag reflector.

The MM+ R2H is wicked bright and really throws when paired with a modified MiniMag reflector.

My favorite is definitely the MM Lite R2H. It gives a really nice, bright beam and runs a looong time on L91 lithium AA's. I've currently got it in a Mini-MiniMag (single AA mini-mag) and I get a beam bright enough to be useful and decent runtime on 1700mAh NiMH.

can someone explain what the MM+ R2H is in newbie terms? I know MM is Mad max...but the other stuff is unknown to me.

R2H is the bin of the led. R refers to its brightness, 2 is the tint, and H is the forward voltage. These days you will most likely see TVOJ where the VO is the tint. They've replaced the numbers with 2 letter codes for more specific tint bins. The sandwich shoppe has a page that explains all this with specific numbers aand figures.

Very difficult to say which one is my favorite. The BB400Q3 one watt sandwich is very nice for use in close and general area lighting. My new regular MM with the T bin Lux3 is definitely my walking arround light. Not only does it have the extra brightness and throw but at 2 hours it's still cool to the touch.
