Just wondering whether to buy a kl1 head for my e1e or get a fenix l1p instead since it appears to be getting such rave reviews. Basically just want a small, bright, single cell, regulated led for edc and can't decide. Any advice on the strengths and weaknesses of each apart from using different batteries? Also is there much difference b/w the fenix l1 and the l1p? Thanks

The KL1 has a very tight beam with better throw and little sidespill.
The L1P has much wider sidespill.

The SF has better regulation.
The Fenix is a smaller, slimmer light, but not well regulated due to limitations its AA battery source, but you can easily use NiMH to improve its rundown characteritics.

If you buy the KL1, get the beamshaper too to give yourself a flood beam option.

L1 and L1P are slightly different in their output level, toughness of finish, and more stigent selection of the LED. The L1P has a subtle antireflective coating on the lens also.

how much more output does the L1P get from a lithium L91 battery? I know it will last longer and resist the cold much better

the L1P has a much smaller spot, and it doesnt throw as well, but the KL1 lacks sidespill.
