Well, it took a little while and I also ran into some problems (refer to the "Oh no, My phone is dead" thread) but I'm finally on a high speed connection. No more dial-up for me. (Well, the analog modem is still hooked up as a redundant backup)
I'm using the Verizon 14.95/month for 768down/128up service. Even though it is not as fast as I had imagined, it is definately faster than my old 56K when it comes to page loading time and downloading Windows Updates and anti-virus/spyware updates. Stuff that used to take almost 20 mins now comes in less than 3 mins.
I got the self install kit with the modem and phone filters last night. Hooked everything up and got online with my desktop in less than an hour but it took me a while and searching around DSLreports.com to get the modem (Westell 6100) to work with my wireless router.
So far, so good.
