I'm curious as to know how often, or how long has it taken for Nichia to upgrade or develop brighter 5mm white leds. The latest ones are the CS, which are twice as bright as the BS ones. How long did this take?, and the one before it etc.
I've notice that on Ebay and GB's on the forum here, we often see brighter LED comes so quickly, ie 26K, 35K, 40K, and recently heard the 50K. These are probably have less durability than the Nichia, but they somehow manage to have brighter ones introduced so quickly.
The reason i'm asking, is that i'm thinking about making a purchase of a flashlight that is using the Nichia CS, however, i don't wanna buy it, to know it's quickly superseded in the next few months, and i "need" to make another purchase again very soon, so that i can have the brightest version.
I realised perhaps i can probably sell the light when it gets superseded/old on B/S/T, however being from Australia, postage cost makes it not really feasible to buy and sell regularly.
