Executive Li-ions

No, this post is not about a boss with a fearsome roar. I need a little help - and after I pose this question, that will be obvious.

Forgive what may be a dumb question from this newbie but; I just received some rechargeable R123 Li-ions and was wondering if the Surefire E1 and E1e Executives could take the extra voltage without damage (3.7v vs 3.0) ??

I don't own either light, but I believe they will fit (some lights are too light to fit rechargeables). However the lamp assembly can't take the extra voltage and will blow as soon as you try to turn it on.

I'm not sure if there are any rechargeable options for the E series.

They will work just fine with a KL1 head.

You might consider these, but Doug dit a runtime test with the E2 and ended up with only ten minutes of usable light:

Rechargeable 3.6 cells will surely kill the 3V LA; you can believe the others.
