Here's a thread about swapping LEDs: http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=94720 :)

I think the method for removing the head involves a series of filling the x5 with water and freezing it. The expanding ice incrementally pushes the head out of the body. The trick is to put the cap on underwater so there is no air in the body when you freeze it.

Thank,

I would assume they are soldered in there. You'll need a soldering iron. It will heat up the solder so that you can remove each LED lead individually. Then when you put the new ones in (make sure polarity (+-) is correct) you'll need some solder to hold them in place.

Make sure you get the LED's in there straight, otherwise you'll have an annoying beam that won't point straight ahead. I had to return my X5T to Target because it came that way in the package.

This might help:

I mean, it won't help you unsolder the LEDs if you don't have a soldering iron, but other than that, it migth help...

pop the little white piece of plastic off the middle. under there unscrew the little screw, i think it torx or hex.. now if it's HAIII or older model the LED' and board are siliconed in. if you cant resolder to the board you can try my way! ;)
