Each one of them gives a lumen spec. Anyone know if their design specs are verified by a calibrated integrating sphere?
Fenix L1P claimed 46 lumensgreg_in_canada said:Most manufacturers (Surefire and HDS excepted) just quote "bulb" lumens. So they take the lumens rating of the bulb or Luxeon they are using and quote that. The reflector and lens loses are ignored. And for Luxeons the loss from the die not being 25 degrees C is also ignored.

Big difference between bulb lumens and out the front lens lumens.
And even 1.43 +/- 17% is an estimation...Archangel said:Actually, the conversion factor is 1.43 +/- 17%.
