Not a chance. She does find out eventually though. I figure that it is better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

I did manage to slip one by around Christmas time this year. I purchased a Surefire M3T for around $300.00 from Bill Jacksons and at the same time, I purchased her an item that she returned for the same price. I guess that the multiple transactions in the same time period confused her.

It's a good thing she doesn't read these posts!

It does not matter what the hobby is, guns, knives, lights or radios. You have to get over the initial hump of acquiring enough of whatever it is so that another one popping up here or there makes no difference at all. At this point your home free, who is gonna pay attention to another flashlight when you have more than even you can keep track of?

I think my wife may be sick or something. I bought a SF M6 last week and when she paid the discover bill she saw the paypal charge and asked what that was for. I told her it was for a new flashlight and she just said "oh" and then just kept on paying the bills. I think I should make an appointment for her to see a specialist. That is just not like her to not complain about me buying something. Maybe I'll call after my next light purchase.............Nahhh, she'll be ok.:)

Well, I know I'm not in the majority but....... I write a "spec sheet" on each new light, complete with pictures and prices. I figure that if anything happens to me she can sell the lights and she'll know thier worth and not get taken.

I've done the same with my kinfe collection and my firearm collection. I't's also good for insurance purposes.

She doesn't ask, I don't tell.

Pretty much the same for me.

One thing that helps is that Flashlights generally are significantly less expensive than guns. Now this hobby does make it more difficult to feed the other hobby but that is another story

I don't have to worry about a wife yet, but I do try to keep some of my purchases hush hush. If someone spots a light, I'll definitely tell them about it, but I don't announce it to the world.

To those with understanding wives, who tell them about every flashlight purchase, just watch out. They may someday begin spending tons of money on a hobby that in your eyes is as pointless as some of them think flashlights must be, and you won't be able to say a thing about it.

My wife and I have a monthly allowance system, so she doesn't care how many flashlights and cameras I buy and I don't care how many purses and cat-themed nick-nacks she buys. And it prevents those "keeping up with the spouse" spending wars that no one wins.

I don't have a wife, but my girl friend visit some time. Sometimes she watch TV then i am in front of the computer checking ebay listing, or read some threads. There are times she as me to go over sit togather...well, I kind of have to at that point.

I go over, gave her some sweet kisses, hold her in you arm on the sofa....
but my mind set is actually thinking about the bidding auction....flashlight, knife, sunglasses, camera...(i collect variety of stuff) She see me not talking....will ask me if something bothering me at work? Do i answer honestly, NOooooo....its worse enough to lost a bid, why make it worse?
Item always arrive at office....a place they don't care, they don't judge.

No telling, no problem. My interest got nothing to do with them. No need to listen any lecture, no need to argue or talk about how good those stuff i am purchasing. The truth, they careless about a light that is so bright can lights up a room.

Pointless to let other get involve what i am interested in. That is why the forum is so great. Where we found a space to be honest with our feeling, talking with great people who share the same interests.

My wife carries an E1e in her purse, a Photon on her keychain, a G2 in the car, a G2Z in the kitchen drawer, a 4D mag under the bed, and she knows where my C3/turbohead is.

I tell her when I'm buying HER a light! :)

Heck no, I'd NEVER tell the wife...if I had one. It's bad enough telling my husband. ;)

He usually finds out the hard way, when a new light appears on my nightstand.

The monthly allowance system works here, too. Best thing for giving each other the space you both need. Credit card charges are a different animal. Here I must practice self control. Thank goodness she's pretty understanding.

Yes, I tell my wife. When I get a new light I buy her one at the same time... I mean I buy myself two, set one on her desk and say its for her. :)

But honestly, she really likes her Fenix L2P. When the power went off in her hotel a few weeks back, she told me she bounced the light off the ceiling like a pro! That's my girl! :grin2:
