I am trying to find a UV LED with a wavelength of between 360 to 365 nm with an output of 4 -10mW.

Does anyone know where I can purchase 2 or 3 of these at a reasonably inexpensive price?

Roithner used to stock a RLU0408N65 which had an output of 365nm @ 4-7mW. That would have been perfect for what I need however they no longer sell them.

Neither could I. They are probably available in limited quantities at this time for huge amounts of money. I would sure like to try one. Maybe a group buy possibility?

The 100mW UV LED was developed in 2002 so I would have thought that it should be relatively available by now in 2006 however it seams not. I believe the minimum order is 5 pieces; at least it was last time I looked anyway. They also make a 2mW UV LED.

It is. It's really kinda funny though. I opened the pdf specs document and got multiple errors due to missing Japanese font packs. The output at 10 mA is given as 1000 and the units column reads ... W. I have had this happen a lot with documents from Nichia so I decided to do something about it and at the same time see what the missing ... was. So I found the following Adobe webpage to download the Japanese font pack:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/acrrasianfontpack.html

I installed it and reloaded the document. Sure enough, the ... was actually a

Figures. Oh well. The person who wrote the ad copy probably fell for the same trap.

I still want an i-LED!

Lamina makes a 1 watt led with peak wave length centered at 365. I have several samples we've been playing with. They also make it in 375 and 385 as well as all other colors that are somewhat standard now in the industry. I have never found an online source for them so its best to have a local rep hunt them down for you.

The Nichia 5mm 365nm LEDs are 1400uW (I have never seen the 2000uW rank). We can get the 100mW i-LEDs if needed. The Fox 360nm LEDs, as I recall, were 350uW each - but you should check with them.

Cheers,
Piers!

I'm afraid of the answer, but how much would they cost including shipping?

Let me check -- around $100 I believe, but I have to verify. So -- about $1 per mW!

Cheers,
Piers

I finally got a quote direct from Nichia:

Price Quote: NCCU033 1pc = $115.00
