(Edit) Tony, I have been trying to kill an N cell with an LED Dynamics MicroPuck driving the LS that came with it for over 20 hours. (couple hours a night burn.) Its dim, but you can still read a book in the dark with it. ?Is the puck gonna quit boosting or the LED quit emitting first? I do like your mod!

Would a high dome work better or worse with your optic? Do you have a hidden heatsink in there?

Great job Tony and keep us posted. I've been looking for something like this for a long time! I like the little Solitare light bodies much better than the ARC-AAA's, (yes, I have one!).

Nice, but at 20ma isn't that the same as a 5mm running at spec? Is it brighter than a 5mm @ 20ma?

Very cool stuff. Does it turn on/off with the standard twist of the lens cap? Planning on encasing the electronics in epoxy or anything like that for durability?
