I bought a 3-cell MiniMag LED yesterday in Walmart in Baton Rouge. The serial number is 30000000272. Is it possible it is #272 of the 3-cell model? I got a black finish - all they had at the local Walmart supercenter. I tried it last night and am very pleased with it. I see several big improvements over the old incandescent minimag:

1. The focusing works much better with a quite smooth flood mode and excellent throw even in flood. Focused it has a great range.

2. It seems to take a bit more turning to switch the light on. I like this change because the old minimags used to tend to turn on accidentally in the holster.

3.I think this produces much more light overall than the old incandescent model.

I have no idea what the runtime is on the 3 cells, but the package gives a non-calibrated visual image to suggest at least double the incandescent battery life.

I was thinking that the number on the far left means 2 for 2AA, 3 for 3AA.

I bought two 3AAs today at Home Depot Atlanta, and won the lottery with both of them. The bins look like WO and XO. And they're bright!

Yep. While 3AA 30000000581 has a fairly blueish tint (when compared - only slightly blue alone) it even CRUSHES my Lambda LUXIII pill!
