I was at Costco today, and found a cool deal on a Garrity LED 4 pack. They are 4 lights that use 3aaa batteries each, and have 9 Nichia LEDs in each light. They were priced very nicely at $13 and change here on Maui, Hawaii.
I bought a pack, of course, and opened and tried it out ... very nice for a Nichia light. Nice, even beam, with a cool, whiteish (for Nichia) color. Not going to win any throw contests, but good for a short distance area light.
Lights look like the picture on the link below, but have ... um ... 4 of them in the package instead of one. This includes 12 aaa batteries for all 4 lights. The $13 dollars barely covers the cost of the batteries retail!!
