Well,....during the process of trying to convert my Mini Maglite to take the AuroraLite TL-3 Hotwire Kit, I learned that the ID in these lights varies quite a bit.....My 10 year old light had an ID of 14.36 mm and the one I bought just yesterday had an ID of 14.60 mm......Needless to say that my old light did not accept the protected 14500 Li-Ion cells because they were about 14.38 mm, whereas these same cells slide into my "new" 14.60 mm ID Mini Mag without any effort.

So, if you think of converting to the TL-3 kit, make sure your MM will take the 14500 cells.....OK, so what is the ID of yours?

So what're you doing with your old MM to get it to fit? I could ship you one if you want.

thanks

Thanks for the offer.....I have enough of these lights now, as I purchased my supply from a local store. The new ones are used for the TL-3 conversion and the old ones I converted to take a LED kit that runs on normal AA batteries that fit the tighter Mini Mag.

I am simply interested in the smallest and biggest ID's in these lights.

Hi,

I have two:
the newer red one is 14.55-14.75mm including the tread and 16.49-16.56mm before thread;
the older black one is 14.87-15.10mm including the tread, and 16.50-16.61mm before the thread.

Is that of any help?
