Sold/Expired Custom 3" Maglite Head - 3" Carley Mod - Crenellated Bezel -HAIII [CLOSED]

Well, I've been looking for a long time for a 3" head for Maglite mods but I found out it's too difficult to get one.

Well, not giving up I decide to design and machine one by myself and now I'm offering it the cpf commmunity..

It's a 3" head machined from high grade aluminium, grooved design with crenellated bezel and HAIII coating, fitting a 3" Carley reflector!

It makes a perfect upgrade for any Mag hotwire mod from ROP, Mag85 up to USL, Mac's Torch or any custom project and can be even used as host for the new coming out leds..

Please note: shipping heads will be made on digital CNC and will have higher quality knurkling, deeper grooves and probably little "Made in Italy" engraved on the inside.

This is a presale order I will accept orders ONLY THRU THIS WEEK until Sunday 10th December night. I will immediatly start the production on Monday 11th December. Estimated delivery time is 4-6 weeks.

Price is 130$ for one head complete with:

-3" Aluminium grooved head
-Aluminium Crenellated bezel
-3" Borofloat@ lens and O-rings
-Black HAIII / Natural HAIII / Polished Bare Aluminium (please specify on order)
-3" Carley camless reflector any finish available SMO / LOP / MOP / HOP / LS / MS / HS (please specify on order)
-Custom bulb opening size 0.377" for WA and ROP / 0.472" for Osram 64623/ 0.530" for HID or other / Custom (please specify on order)

Each additional reflector is 30$
Each additional Boroflaot lens is 8$

I'll try to make a standard worldwide shipping rate of 10$ up to 2 complete heads and 18$ up to 4 complete heads. If you need more please ask me for a quote.

Delghi, I'm definitely interested. Are the reflectors available in all orange peel as well as stippled versions? Are these already on hand? I understand that waiting for product from Carley can take quite a bit of time. Also, what is the likelihood of fins on the head?

Yes every reflector finish is available from Carley to order:

Smooth - Low Orange Peel - Medium Orange Peel - Heavy Orange Peel - Light Stipple - Medium Stipple and Heavy Stipple

Standard ream size hole is 0.377" I thought to offer a 0.530" for larger bulbs. If you need it larger for a HID just let me know ream size in a note, I would have no problem modding it.

I'm pretty sure I want to get 3-4 of these. Just a couple questions before I send paypal.

1) Using FM's 2" Deep SMO reflector works very well for removing any WA bi-pin bulb artifact (with bulb perfectly centered), and uses the smaller 0.377" hole. Which hole and finish would you think gives the best performance in priority of throw, then removal of artifacts? I would anticipate 0.377 with SMO, but just want to check with you first.

2) Again, which would you recommend for more focussed beam (1st priority again is throw, then reduction of artifacts) for a Torch or Torch Clone such as shown here. I think this would need the 0.530" opening, but not sure of this bulb's artifacts with SMO.

3) If I get 3 or 4 of them, what would the shipping be to continental USA? Also, is your email is [email protected] ?

Small hole woud fit Welch Allen lamps (S-Config) up to WA1185, Carley and ROP bulbs. Usually 50 and 100 watt bulbs needs the bigger hole.

I think that small hole gathers a little more light

The size of the reflector helps itself cleaning artifact compared to a standard 2" Carley reflector and get a tighter and brighter hotspot.

If you love throw go with the smooth if you don't want any artifact at all go with orange peel, if want the wall of light go with the stipple

For your needs I would be unsure myself for the Smooth or the LOP

Sorry for another stupid question....on the colors. Are there 3 options?

1) Black
2) HAIII (like these images?)
3) Plain (protected finish) aluminum?

Any idea when you will have those images to post?
