M1 VS. L4

What do you need to know? Flashlightreviews.com has both pretty well covered. You can see that the M1 has a LOT more throw. Size of both are similar. The M1 has two stage option. The L4's is more of a wall of light, whereas the M1 is a bright spot with reasonable sidespill. The M1 is overall brighter.

I have an L4 but I'm seriously considering the M1 also

If you are worried about getting the best quality, go with the Surefire. You are covered if it does break. With these Chinese lights, it might be hard getting parts down the road when they move on to the next model.

I'm not saying the Lumapower is bad in any way, but for the most part, what you get with Surefire is that they stand behind their products long term.
