Hi,

I am working on a flashlight conversion that I want to use 4/3 fat A lithium-ion or NMh cells in. They are 18.2mm diameter.

Anybody know of any of the double 123 flashlights that are loose enough for the slightly fatter cells to fit or one with enough meat to allow me to bore it out?

Thanks,

Ron, I bored out my Coleman 2AA aluminum flashlight (w/ tailcap on/off) to fit two "A" cells. My "A" cells are about 17mm in diamater, but there is plenty of room in the flashlight for your batteries...you can even make the extra room with a file, but it's probably better on some type of machine.

Check it out. It's a good flashlight for mods...and you'll probably be able to fit the batteries you need in there.

It's not that big, and there's plenty of room in the head for a regulator, if you so wish to put one in...

EDIT:
This place seems like a nice place to get them...and they're cheap, too!
