Question for you surefire aficionados out there..

Awhile back, I purchased a used surefire x300u-A. Good condition, but no original packaging. I was trying to verify the output specs and read elsewhere that the older, 500 lumen models were given a serial number starting with "A" while the newer, 1000 lumen models serial starts with a "B". The thing is, I've also noticed several 1000 lumen models have "1000 lumens" stamped on the underside of the light body near the bezel.

Mine has a B serial number, but no 1000 lumen stamp. Is this just an anomaly? Or was the additional marking something they started after the new models had been out for a bit? Strange detail, I know.. but I figured if anyone would know, it would be here.

I have a 600 lumen model that has a serial number that starts with A but it is an "A" model with the quick attachment.
Does yours have the rapid on off or the screw on attachment?

Yeah this is where it gets confusing. It's an A model, so it has the quick attach, with a B serial number
