I posted this over in the Homemade and Modified Lights section, but haven't gotten any replies. I figured I would give it a shot here:

I have an old L1P that I had MillerMod add his L1P circuit and a LuxIII led to a couple of years ago. It has been an outstanding light and I don't want to get rid of it to make room for something new. Instead I am looking for a great mod for this to help keep up with the emerging led lights.

One possible solution i have been thinkging about is the new 4-mode driver from RV7 (here: http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/show...&highlight=L1P) and adding a U-bin Seoul P4 to it from DX (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2026).

Does this look like a much better way to go or does anyone have any other possibilities?

How about the new Rebel 3w or KLC8 like the ones from DX (here: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4622 and http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4282)?

Thanks!

I put a resistor in the tailcap so its a 2-stage clicky, twist on-off. upgraded with seoul and quite bright. now waiting on its return from modamag with a new chrome plating.

What seoul led did you put in it? The one from DX?

Chrome plating.... Nice!

A couple other possibilities to consider are sending to 4sevens and having him put a Q5 in it:
