i am trying to get a better idea of what's the safe battery configuration to run with the downboy 1000 and SSC P4

what's the min and max input voltage? what's the amp drawn from the battery at that voltage?

(downboy 1000 means there's 1000mAh to the LED (SSC P4 -> 3W) right? but what's the amp drawn from the battery per input voltage?)

well, lets start here. See this http://theledguy.chainreactionweb.com/product_info.php?&products_id=478

This will give you info from the Sandwich Shoppe on the Downboy converter.

The current draw from the battieries with a downboy driven with 6 volts could be 750mA's, or as low as 500mA's with two Lion's, depending on the individual vf of the Seoul. A Seoul at one amp to the led could be outputing up to 3.7 watts, or lower, again depending on the vf of the individual led. Add more voltage (batteries) and the current from the batteries will drop more.

it said the min input voltage is ~3.0V

does it means i can power up a DB 1000 with SSC with just one 18650?
