You know what I would REALLY like?

I work in IT, and EDC both a mini torch (Ultrafire 602D Cree, fwiw) and a 4Gb USB stick.

What I would love if the two could be combined into a single unit, with the battery actually charged from the USB port. You could get away with a rechargeable CR2 in that case.

Is this possible? It's what I really want for Christmas.

Would anyone else want one, if it was tiny, bright and had plenty of storage?

Well, I've seen some keychain light that plugged in USB to charge... and USB-charging NiMH batteries, so I guess a flashlight/flash drive is not far off. Better yet, it would use TransFlash internally so you could upgrade to keep up with the times.

I could and do EDC an Ultrafire 602D Cree, and a 4Gb USB stick.

But I want them combined into a single device. With a Cree at one end and a USB plug at the other.

Our genius with the Wee has proved the concept that it is possible to make a serious flashlight in a CR2 form factor, and the business end of a flash memory stick doesn't take up much space.

And the bonus is - a DC converter board (similar to those that go in mobile phone car chargers) could be installed to charge from USB.

So it must be possible.
