I would like to say a prayer for those who died in Katrina, and tell those who survived and are still working very hard to recover from it that my best wishes go out to them. I admire your fortitude and endurance, it is truly the best of what makes America special.

Thanks Lee, you're alright. As strange as it sounds, we really had no problem with the event itself, but dealing with the continuing problems of a broken city is really challenging...
I'm not usually much of a softy but I'm allowing myself to soak some of this in today...I'm trying to maintain some kind of enlightened perspective...it ain't pretty.
