Quick Surefire question

It's been a while since I've had much time to keep up with what's going on. Last I saw, Surefire cree models had the problem with flickering and stepping down after a few minutes. I'm wanting to get the E1L. Obviously, they've got the problem fixed, but I've searched and can't seem to find out what the problem ultimately was. General concensus was a heatsink issue. Is that what it was? And how was the problem fixed?

thanks,
lukus

As far as I am aware that problem was only with the new Cree L1. Never heard of any other issues with the new crees....

Also I don't think the problem was with enough units to cause much concern. If you buy in person, see if you can test it, and some of the dealers on cpf may when asked do the test for you.

Can't help with the technicalities as to why etc...

Hope that helps :)

I believe lightemup is correct. I only heard of issues with the L1. I don't think the others had any type of issues. It may be time to order that E1L that you want. :)

The KX1 head on the E1L-Cree only flickers when used with 3.7V RCR's or multiple primaries.
