I have seen members mention they have particular Surefire Models with certain revision numbers and some mention dates.

How do you tell what is what ???
Or...
Is it just certain models that have this ???

This has been asked a few times, as far as i know there's no public database of serials and manufacturing dates.
But lower numbers mean older lights.

Indeed new products do start with A00001 and once they run out of digits they add one A99999 to A100000. Sometimes they start with six digits. Sometimes less.
Usually such 'sort after' serial numbers don't tend hit dealers although this is not always the case. By chance one could well get a new product with a serial number approaching 1.

The lowest numbers I have are on my early L1 (A00130) and my A2 (A00799). I bought the L1 used and the A2 new. Every other SF currently in my collection is over A01000, but my M4 is in the 1200's.
