Looking for a better torch than the SF G2L

This is my first post; I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if there are any torches that can put out more light than the Surefire G2 LED (80 lumens), and are able to put out useful light longer than the G2 LED (12hrs, according to the packaging). I'm sure there are lights out there that can give the sun a run for its money, and I'm sure there are lights that will go 40 years; is there something that offers the best of both worlds?

Probably not. Most of the lights that are brighter than the G2L using the same emitter are geared toward output over runtime. You can have 200 lumens instead of 80, but it won't go as long. The tradeoff for having a bright, long running light is size, as output and runtime are both functions of battery capacity. You may want to check out some multi level LED flashligts.

We even have a run time on SF cree lights yet?
Are they even 80 legit lumens for 8-12 hours?

I searched 3x2 and chevyfreak and had no luck.

Some of this may be hype.

Well with continuous use the G2L starts out at 80 lumens then as the thermal regulation kicks in it drops down to about 60 lumens and runs at that for about 3 hours and then starts dropping off from that for about 10 hours of complete runtime from the graph I saw.

Edit: Found it https://www.candlepowerforums.com/posts/2147852&postcount=1 It is an informal graph but gives you an idea.

We are not sure that the upper points in the graph represent 80 lumens, settling down to 60 lumens. Will know more when someone does a basic bounce runtime test, or a lightbox runtime test. Chevrofreak has the equipment to do a good approximate lumen test. He just needs someone to send him a G2L.

I have this combo : A Wf 500 xenon light ( about 350 lumens)
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1317 $25

THen get a Led drop in: $15.00
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7039

You need two UNprotected 18650 batteries

and a charger: ( several models to choose from)

I have this combo; THe led is very bright- with tremendous spill, and about 6 hours of high power run time. Get 2 extra batteries if you need to.

You can swap in the incan bulb if you want super power, but 1 hour plus runtime.
