I have been using an old U2 for ages now. Its dented, dirty and still works. I have a feeling though it is comming to the end of its life, as the LED is begining to look weak and aged.

I am thinking about getting a newer one. Do they still have all the old problems, ie dirty reflectors, tail cap, donut etc??

Have SF sorted them out now. Any advice would be welcome.

Oh and also, mine works with the 18650 do the new heads still work with the old tubes.

If you feel the led has gotten dimmer you should return it to Surefire.

I think they will replace your head free of charge if they find the led as deteriorated. They aren't always fast:poke:, but they are good when they get going:D

That what I was thinking. Any tips on getting the head appart. Strap wrenches and freezing have not done it for me.

Unless you're strongly considering a mod of some type I'd send it back to surefire and have them take a look at it. They may be able to help you depending on how bad the LED has deteriorated.

Get MilkySplit to put 4 x Rebels in there! That's with four different reflectors - I've seen that mod around here some where!
