So I was replacing the plastic lens on my XM-3 with glass, and when I went to snug down the head, apparently the edge pressed down on the postive wire which shorted it to ground. It took out both the driver and the LED. I found a few drivers on DX that might work, but not sure which one is most suitable. All will physically fit. I run my XM-3 exclusively off of 2AA NiMH cells. The LED installed is a SSC ZLED. Here are the options:

www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1885

www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4382

www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4255

Since I run NiMH around 2.0-2.8 volts, it seems the only one suitable would be the 4735, but the others state they can be used with 2AA's. Is the 4735 the only one suitable, and will it drive the SSC ZLED? Thanks.

Out of those, the first and third one would work better.

The second one is a linear regulator(?). I like to call it a smart resistor. The forth one is a buck driver.
