The LuxV was setup in a 2S2P config correct? So any driver that will work for a LuxV will also work for a Cree MC-E in a 2S/2P setup?

How different will the heat sink need to be going from the LuxV to the MC-E?

I don't know for sure but it should be possible to wire a MC-E in 2S2P and power it off a LuxV driver.

Heatsink need should be less because the MC-E is more efficient.

Hi - I am a long time fan of the Lux V, but the Cree part does look interesting. Any links to the Vf of that part ? It does not look like Cree specs Vf, which is a big deal to my method of building lights.

Thanks

Harry

what about the footprint of the LuxV vs the MC-E? Pretty similar sized or totally different?

Very nice collection!

Does the MC-E magnify the dice with the dome? If so, I imagine the reflector needed is quite different than the P7.

What are your findings using the MC-E?

Seems to be about 3.2V per die at 700mA.

Cree doesn't list the MC-E Vf because the dies are individually addressable. It can be 12.8V@700mA, [email protected], or [email protected].

The Vf for the MC-E isn't listed because Cree dosent bin for Vf.

They list the Vf as a range,even on the single die emitters.

MC-E Vf range below;
