Newbie questions on MCE vs XRE

Evening all!
I've had a good read on various threads and have more than confused myself! I remember the basics from school more than 10 years ago and I'm a little rusty!
Basically, I'm desiging a bike light for XC racing.
What I'm looking for is super bright light, wide beam and spot. I've found different optics so I'm ok in that area.
What I need to ask is do I use 4 XRE R2 leds or one MCE led which I think is an M10 bin.
If you recommend the MCE, would I run it in 4s or 2s2p? Or even 2x MCEs! I can taylor the battery and driver to suit the light as I havent bought them yet. Some advice on the batteries and drivers I would require would be fantastic too!

Sorry, but no answers to your questions, but have you seen THIS bicycle light over on the dealers corner?
Looks pretty badass! ..and a bargain to boot. It might be an option to building your own so I thought I'd pass it along.
