I have an older KL1 head that I have replaced the stock LED :green: with a K2 TFFC diode driven at 1A. I am trying to figure out what reflector or optic would work best. I am currently using a fraen LP optic that produces a square beam. Any ideas?

Nice upgrade.

With a single die emitter like a K2 you have many choices - perhaps too many. The best way is to look at beam shots posted and see which ones you like. Seriously there is that much range.

Do you want more flood, a real thrower, etc.

The square beam is typical for an optic which is exactly in focus. What I usually do, is go to photon fanatic and buy several that will work and just try them out.

You can use the shiny IMS17 (17mm) Plastic reflector or the McR18 (stippled) Alu reflector...

Thanks for the info. I may post pictures but my phone is my only camera for the time being and it takes poor quality pictures. I 'm thinking I'll try the McR18
