i got my P7 supplys from kd today and realized that the P7 reflector does not fit into my 6d!!
i put my head (the black one) next to an other from a 3d. mine has a "step" at the end of the treads.
it it normal that a 6d has an different head the the rest of the mags?

How about the diameter in the bottom?
Can you switch the head to fit the other mag?
I know that old D mag's are thicker than new ones.

Some of the older MagD lights, but new enough to have the D serial number, have the lip. I ran into this with a couple of my lights when I started modding. Fortunately, I had multiple lights so I just swapped parts around to use the ones with the lip in my hotwires where it wouldn't interfere.

Still strange though that the heads are not alike.
I only knew thick and thin D mag's.

(one with D in front on the s/n other without.)

i ll remove the lip when i make my P7 heatsink no problem. i was just very surprised that there are differences in the mags design. i thought they are exactly the same since the beginning of the human race ;)

It's not strange :) The one with a lip is a older style head.
