EVERYTHING SOLD. THANKS!

Hey everyone,

Here are some Aleph parts that I have for sale:

1: McE2S 2-stage flat-top switch. 15ohm resistor. Comes with flat-top switch boot and retaining ring. SOLD

2: Same as #1. $30$SOLD

4: Flat-top tailcap bare aluminum. Perfect condition. $12 $SOLD

Buy a switch and get the tailcap for only $5 extra!

5: Cree MC-E M-bin WC 430 lumens aleph LE. The LED is being driven by a BiFluPIC (2.2A burst) using the standard UI. Insanely bright on burst (recommended for only short periods of use on Burst). WITHDRAWN

Re: Aleph MC-E LE, Tailcap, switches

Cree MC-E, Does it work well with a 27-XR and a 38MM reflector?

Re: Aleph MC-E LE, Tailcap, switches

Cryhavoc,

You upgraded my Aleph a couple of years ago to a P4 LED and modified the reflector so that it could fit. I still use it to this day!

Obviously the LE would fit into my Aleph but will the reflector have to be modified again to fit the quad die LED?

Re: Aleph MC-E LE, Tailcap, switches

Lawrence,

Glad the LE's are still treating you well!

The MC-E is notorious for being difficult to focus, especially with smaller reflectors. If this was put in a Aleph 1 or 2, I wouldn't expect much of a hotspot but it would have killer flood.

With the Aleph 3, it can focus reasonably well but will have a small doughnut in the center and very bright flood.

I have tried the MC-E in an Aleph 2 with a McR20-S. It has a defined hotspot with plenty of flood and a faint donut hole.

Re: Aleph MC-E LE, Tailcap, switches

Thanks for the reply, Nake. I only have an Aleph 3 head, so I was speculating how the LED would work in the smaller heads.

I suppose you could use a Boom reflector (with a little shaving) in an aleph 2 head for a great work light.

Re: Aleph MC-E LE, Tailcap, switches

I actually had some shots of the MC-E LE in an Aleph 3 head:

Note: I had to grind down the back fo the reflector a bit to get the LED in the correct focal plane.

All shots taken with exposure set to -2EV and A3 on left running a puny IMR16340. Note that the low and medium levels can be user configured. These beamshots aren't very good as they only show the hotspot and not the incredibly bright spill. :sick2: Lights are approximately 10 feet from white wall.

Lumens Factory E1R 90 lumens in a E2 host on a 17670.
