I know there is an Ultra. The question here is, given that I carry a Mag Solitaire now, am unwilling to buy online, and have never seen an ARC aaa in person...

Would I be anywhere near better off with the Infinity?

Infinitely better off-

If you have to have an extra bit of brightness, you can also remove the black resistive material on the + contact-

Why so unwilling to buy online, though?

LOCO is more like it.
As compared to an Arc AAA - If you don't mind the size, you'll get better runtime, better price and a more useful light than then Solitaire in my opinion (still far more dim than the Arc AAA though). You may want to search around for a store that has more current stock on hand, and pick up the Ultra. Then you'll have the same brightness as the Arc, but still more runtime.

Infinities are great. I have several, and I still use them even though I have tons of Arcs and Ultras around.

Hi PJS - you can buy a real Ultra for, I think, $1 less, on the phone from Texas Tactical Supply. TTS will USPS for you if you say you are CPF. The Ultra, in my opinion, is worth the upgrade.
