I'm all for alternative treatments and all, but I have a hard time seeing any significant biochemical benefits of a ray of light from an LED...

I wouldn't, however, challenge the psychosomatic effects of a soothing light from an LED...

There was an article, of which the link was posted on cpf some time ago (before the changeover), which dealt with this. There are 3 specific wavelengths in the near infrared that aid in healing.
