One problem with buying a Chinese light is that there is no easy Q&A with technical support....
I bought the light (your review helped) and it worked well through the first set of batteries (Sony NiCad),
since then it will come on for about a second and then it just shuts off....

So , what is wrong with this thing.....

The usual response to your post would be:

1. Try another set of batteries.
2. Clean all contacts.
3. Reassemble and test.
4. If still no go, remove tail cap and cross a wire over the end of the body tube and the negative terminal of the battery. If the light flickers on, then you either have a faulty switch or a switch that needs to be tightened.

I would check the light with a pair of standard AA Alkalines first.

James....
