I was kinda bummed when I got my third Surefire Z46/NB SST-50 D36 in the mail since I didn't have a dummy cell to run it in my M500. Well, I put two primaries in the battery mag and left the third slot empty. It works just fine.

I started thinking that leaving the third slot empty could expedite battery changes in the field, especially in the dark. No fumbling and wondering which is the dummy cell, and the empty slot would help to pop out the used cells.

Just a thought...
