Quark Mini AA diffuser

I recently received 2 aa minis, one for me and one for my 11 year old son. While I really like the light, the low is still bright compared to my EX10 on minimum. I'm always on the lookout for a quick, easy diffuser. I also just finished a plastic 1.75 liter R&R bottle. My wife pulled out the plastic pour "restricter" (whatever it's called) to prepare the bottle for recycling.

I pressed the plastic onto my aa mini and while it was tight (ain't gonna fall off - that's for sure) it diffused the light fairly well. Brightness was still high compared to the EX10, so I took a red permanent sharpie and colored just the disc that covers the lens, one side for some red and both sides for a lot.

Now the aa mini is dimmer than the EX10 on minimum, plus the red filter helps retain night vision.

The only down side is they are rather expensive - $23.95 each

Innovative!!

I'm using the Fenix AD401 "Headlight" Diffuser Lens with some red translucent sticker on the lens cover. As and when I need a white beam, I just flip it.
