playing with optics

Hey all,

I have been recently playing with a few different 20mm optics in custom dropins and have a few questions. I have used the Carclo 20mm optics with a MC-E to try and get a narrow beam but am not happy with the beam or the cross section it gives. Will I get a better beam out of a boomerang reflector?, or will the cross still be a problem. What others have members tried and what were the verdicts. I am thinking I will not be able to achieve the throw I want out of 20mm.

What brand optics do surefire use as I have a LX2 and the beam and throw is great (I realize its not a MC-E but was hoping for similar throw it gives).

U have 2 use multiple optics as in dfet or else u have to use a throwie reflector. Another option is to use a single die chip like cree xp's or sst 50/90 to avoid the 'cross'

Have you looked at Ledil or Khatod optics? There have been several optics relateds threads over the past couple of months in pretty much the same vein.
