i have a G2Led that im adding to a winter car survival kit. im nervous about leaving the light in the 'lockout' mode because the cap on mine has to be really loose.
can i just flip both cells and tighten the tailcap down and keep it stored like that or will it cause damage to the bulb/drain the cells?

What about leaving the batteries with opposite ends touching inside, or is that asking for trouble?

Might be best with both (-) ends since there would be a gap between the contacts.

I'm guessing you could tighten down the tailcap all you want then?
I'm no electrical kind of guy aside from testing 9V with my tounge

Don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!

Leave a piece of gaffers tape covering the end of one battery instead. Or a piece of paper.

That is what I would do. Even if you tighten the tail all the way down the gap separating the two negative ends of the batteries should prevent any problems whatsoever.
