Through a stroke of luck a friend who works at a scrap yard snarfed me a few bits of 16mm titanium bar.
No idea what grade or anything but ey, its titanium amirite :)

(its not all mine but he got me some of the longer sticks)

So its got me thinking what do I want to make out of it?
A torch obviously but what kind.
I'm thinking a single lithium 10440 cell for the power, I'd like to go bigger but the 14500 sized cells make for too thin a wall section (lots more power though) .85 of a mm with the 14500 Vs 2-3mm with the 10440 cell?

Do you think .85mm Ti is too thin for an EDC?

I always like throwy lights so I'm thinking an XP-G (of course ;->) for the main emitter with a tight tight lens on it something like a Lisa2-clip16 real spot +-13 degree.

Just to add some difficulty to it I'm also thinking a side emitter with a nice wide beam would be useful too I'm thinking it'd be handy for things like finding keyholes and such so it shouldn't need to be too bright, so how does a nichia raijin sound?

Would be good for moonlight modes as well I'm thinking?

Any suggestions about what to make the lens for the side emitter out of i'm thinking a bit of acrylic siliconed in would do the job?
