ATEX torch conversion

hi guys

my first post
im a firefighter and we are issued with the Wolf ATEX TR-24..which is quite frankly useless ..many firemen use personal torches but the issue is safety in explosive atmosphere..thus my question is -could i safely use a niteize 1 watt c-d cell led conversion ...from my perspective the wattage is lower so should be ok ?? any ideas ..regards bIff

on re reading my post i understand people may not want to commit to safety critical question , however our radios are not intrinsically safe so the torch issue is not a major drama..its more of an interest question - regards

I don't know the answer to your question
but do a search will bring up some good threads.

Type in :-

firefighter recommended lights

For example

In the search box above -click the CPF only box as well - to narrow your hits.

EDIT:
On re-reading your post ,you want to just upgrade.The niteize certainly
should'nt compromise the safety of the Wolf.
Maybe even a P60 dropin could be easily put in there for a bit more light.
